SKILLS
Mental Performance is made up of a collection of skills. Many of these skills are connected and impact upon one another. Below is an introduction of some of these skills.
RELAXATION
This concept is discussed in many areas of life. In the Mental Performance we discuss Relaxation as a skill that can be learned, practiced and adapted. Relaxation can be used in recovery in training, as a tool to prepare the mind for performance and or in general navigate through the world.
MOTIVATION
What gets you going? What keeps you going? If you fall what helps you get back up? Chances are in answering these question you have begun to examine your motivation.
FOCUS
The ability to concentrate or pay attention to what is needed to perform optimally. The characteristics of ones focus are based on the needs within a performance. (ie. a wide focus when defending on a soccer pitch, a narrow focus when shooting on the range.) The skill focus includes gaining focus, maintaining focus and regaining focus.
GOAL SETTING
